What is a stamp club?

in , by Kari Downing Reese, September 20, 2013
Looking for a fun way to get together with friends and have some stamping fun?
Why not join Stamp Club!

A stamp club is a group of people who meet once a month to stamp 3 fun projects.  Each person agrees to place a $15 minimum order of Stampin’ Up! products each month.  Each of the people take turns being the hostess (at my house) and is guaranteed $25 in FREE hostess dollars when it is their turn to host!  You get the 3 fun projects even if you can't make a stamp club meeting; you would still place your order for the hostess that month.  Build your stampin' supplies and have fun creating!

August Stamp Club - Part 2

in , by Kari Downing Reese, September 11, 2013
The 3rd project in our August Stamp Club was the Card Holder.  You could make these for any occasion, holiday, or celebration!

I started with one sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock and some coordinating Designer Series Paper and another color of solid cardstock.  I also used ribbon and the Mixed Bunch stamp set as part of the decorating, which you will see in the finished project.

Take the 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock and score it at 5 1/4 and 5 3/4 on the 11' side

Then turn it to the 8 1/2 side and score at 2 and 2 1/4

Cut out slit from bottom up to the 2 1/4 score line.  Fold along all the score lines to begin the shape of the cardholder

Take a solid color cardstock that measures 11 by 2; score at 5 1/4 and 5 3/4

Notice it fits around the outside of the cardholder by being scored at the exact measurements on our full sheet of cardstock.  Adhere both pieces together

Adhere your Designer Series Pieces to the inside flaps of the cardholder.  Then punch a hole thru all layers and use Sticky Strip to help hold the flaps down

Add ribbon thru the punched holes, tie a knot on the inside.  Add cards to the cardholder!
See the other cardholders below!

I hope you try making one of these cardholders!  It would be nice as a gift or even just for yourself to hold some of your favorite cards you have received.

Happy Stamping,
Kari

August Stamp Club - Part 1

in , by Kari Downing Reese, September 02, 2013
I love the new products used in the August Stamp Club!  The Chalk Talk stamp set (130634) and coordinating Chalk Talk Framelits (129983) are so fun; so many different ways you can use this set.  These can be purchased separately, or even better, in a bundle. The Chalk Talk Bundle (132730) saves you 15% when you buy the two together!  Check out page 12 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

A favorite color combo of mine is using Island Indigo and Basic Grey; how great are these colors together?!  Also, check out the NEW Chevron Ribbon in Island Indigo (131151).  Love this one!  I also used the Decorative Label punch (120907) as a frame around the Happy Big Day greeting.

The second project was also fun to make.  The card opens up as a type of "pop-up".  I used the Sketched Birthday stamp set (130426); not pictured, as well as, the Yippee-Skippee! stamp set (131344) for the greeting inside the card.  These are great colors together as well; Raspberry Ripple, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, and Baked Brown Sugar.

The inside of the card has a Whisper White piece of cardstock measured at 51/4 by 81/4 and scored at 21/4, 41/4 and 61/4.  I stamped the balloon image 3 different times, then colored them in with the markers.  I then punched out the 2-3/8 Scallop Circle (118874) in the middle and stamped my greeting inside "Carbs, schmarbs! {Eat The Cake}"

Another new product is the Modern Mosaic embossing folder (129984) used as the background on this card.  If you love this embossing folder, then take a peek at page 123 in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog for a coordinating stamp set and punch in this pattern!

Both of these projects were inspired by Convention Swaps!  So much creativity at Convention! Stay tuned for Part 2 of the August Stamp Club projects!  Here's a hint....a cardholder which makes keeping your cards together a breeze, and a fun gift as well!

Happy Stamping,
Kari
