Birthday Fun

in , by Kari Downing Reese, September 15, 2011
My four day birthday weekend was a blast! How exiciting it was to receive this card in the mail from Stampin' Up! wishing me a happy birthday with a special message inside. I love being a demonstrator!

Next up, presents from my co-workers....the book, The Help; Dirty Dancing movie (classic), candy, popcorn and a movie theater gift card to boot! :)

My most FAVORITE gift of course was the charm bracelet I got from Michael. How thoughtful he was to add a kitty for my cat, Sassy, a cruise ship for the cruise I went on with my mom in November 2010, and my favorite color of all time, turquioise beads!

Some greek dinner at Acropolis; my first dinner there.

Margaritas at Luna's; an AWESOME Mexican restaurant in Brandon, Florida! Yum-o!

And top it all off with some Menchies yogurt!!! They have 16 flavors that rotate from time to time and about 30 or so different toppings ranging from sweet to salty to fruit to syrups. The best part is, you get to control how much and how many you add. SWEET!

Thanks for stopping by!! :)

Thank you!

Hey everyone! Take a look at this adorable thank you card that I made for my customers this month. I saw this at Convention 2011 and just had to make this. The "dress" is made using a scallop circle punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, and a 1 inch circle punch. I love borrowed ideas! :)

Convention Day Four

in , by Kari Downing Reese, August 07, 2011
One more day of fun at Convention 2011. Here is a picture of the hotel I stayed at with my new friend and roomie, Nicole. We stayed at Hotel Monaco; such a nice hotel and a quick walk over to the convention center; can't beat that!

My first class of the day was For the New Gardener. It was a panel of demonstrators discussing their challenges and hardships of starting their business and getting thier business to grow. The panel was Jenny Peterson, Laurie Krauss, and Meg McAlister. I enjoyed their presentation so much; I got TONS of notes and tips to take back home with me and use in my business.

My second class was Stocking Your Garden Shed with Shannon West. She taught us how to use our reports in our business. This class was so helpful to me; I didn't realize how to use these reports and how you can track your progress; great class!

Then it was off to lunch and time to take more photos of Product Park. So much inspiration! Another highlight of convention was getting another FREE stamp set, exclusive to demonstrators! Check out the stamp set below called Workshop Words!

Closing session was the last event of the day and the last event of convention. Shannon West and Carrie Cudney both presented some really cute projects. Check them out...

This was an absolutely, fabulous convention and I cannot wait for Convention 2012! Stampin' Up! did such a wonderful job and I thank them for the friendships, motivation and inspiration that I gained. See you next year!

Convention Day Three

in , by Kari Downing Reese, August 03, 2011
I am up and ready for Day 3 to start.

My first order of business was the First Timers Breakfast. We had fruit, donuts, muffins and juice. Shelli Gardener stopped by for some words of encouragement and motivation and some photo ops.

My first class of the day was with Jan in Taking Advantage of the New Hostess Program. Lots of good ideas and note taking here!!

The second class of the day was with my roommate, Nicole. We attended Bumper Crop: Using DBWS to Increase Event Attendance. Another class full of inspiration and note taking! I learned so much in this class and have already started utilizing some of the techniques they taught. Nicole got a chance to participate in the class and got some FREE brads for doing so!!

The last thing left to do before lunch was our Make-n-Takes. We got some very cute projects, including the Card Keeper box that you can see me assembling below.

After lunch, I had some free time and decided to do some sighseeing around Salt Lake City. The Mormon Temple was a couple blocks from the convention center so I decided to take myself on a tour. It was so beautiful there; I wish I could have gone inside.

My last festivity of the day was to tour the Riverton Campus; Headquarters of Stampin' Up! What a delight it was to go there! The atrium was so beautiful; wouldn't you love to eat lunch here on your lunch break everyday? I toured the Demo Support cubicles and just had to take a photo of someone representing Disney!! YAY! Next was the distribution center...can you say WOW?! The inspiration room where I got to leave a little note for Stampin' Up! Then the breathtaking view of the mountains beyond the campus! What a great tour!

Now on to Day 4...stay tuned!
